Come and join us for what many of our clients call a “life changing experience”.  Not only will you get the best drag racing instruction available anywhere but Frank’s lectures cover a broad range of topics on how we think, act and behave and how to retrain your mind, allowing you to perform at a highter level in both your professional and private life.

Since so many of our competition license classes have been sold out this year, we wanted to get the word out about our fall and winter class dates!  First, we added a NEW class on October 1-2 at Gainesville Raceway!  The October 11-12 class at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway only has a few spots available.  And there are a few seats left in the class at Auto Club Dragway in Fontana, CA on October 17-18 so we added a second class on October 24-25.

We’ll be running classes all winter at our home track in Gainesville, FL and currently have classes on December 4-5 and December 27-28 to finish out 2018.  We’ve added a few dates for the competition license class in 2019 too in Gainesville – January 22-23, February 5-6, February 19-20, March 19-20 and March 26-27.

Drive well in this program and you can earn your license to 7.50.  The competition license course includes classroom, in car and on track instruction.  Drivers will make progressively longer runs down the strip,  enjoy video review of all runs and learn from Frank Hawley’s lectures on improving personal performance.   Those new to drag racing will learn basic techniques and procedures and those currently racing can improve their skills.

Please contact Paul Shields x102 or Jeff Arend x103 at 866-480-7223 for information on any of the classes and to register.  Pre-registration is required in all the programs and the seats are limited so don’t wait.  Group event dates and the 200 mph classes are scheduled on demand.

Starting this year the school partnered with Greg Samuel and his transmission and torque converter company, FTI Performance.  “We have been running the FTI products and I’m amazed at the performance and durability.  I’ve been to Greg’s shop and seen the attention to detail and craftsmanship that goes into his products.  It’s a first class operation,” said Hawley.

Since 1992, Greg Samuels and his wife, Phaedra, have supplied some of the best built transmissions in the country to some of the best racers in the country.  A bracket racer since he was 17, Greg is not only a marketing partner for the school, but a transmission consultant as well.

FTI is quickly becoming the standard in the performance industry with their innovative state-of-the-art torque converter and transmission design.  The FTI Performance R&D team produces new products on a daily basis from Stock to Top Sportsman, from Street to Pro Mod.  Their attention to detail and forward thinking sets them apart from all other manufacturers.  With the latest technology and design available nowhere else, it’s clear to see why people are winning races everywhere in all categories of racing with FTI.

A racer with a storied background, Samuel traveled the country from the early 90s to 2001, finishing his weekends quite often in the Winners Circle.  As a racer, earning the trophy at the end of the weekend was the goal.  Now, Greg prefers to see his customers go home with the gold.  It’s more rewarding for me to show up at the race track and my customers win or go fast now than driving a car myself,” said Samuel.  “I also enjoy helping racers get started and that’s why we are excited to work with Frank Hawley.  It’s going to be a great partnership,” said Samuel.

Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School is the leader in Drag Racing School Instruction world wide.  For over 3 decades Hawley’s School has been training the top professional and sportsman drivers.  The School’s reputation has been built on providing the best instruction for its drivers as well as the best equipment in which to train.

“It’s important for us to provide fast and reliable cars for our students to drive”, said Hawley.  “We literally make thousands of runs each year which puts demands on our cars, especially the drive line.  That’s why we are excited to announce our partnership with FTI Performance,” continued Hawley.

Last week was the debut of the John Force Racing built 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Funny Car at Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School.  John Force Racing’s developmental driver, Austin Prock, was the first to make laps in the beautiful state of the art Camaro. Frank and his crew worked side by side with Austin and couldn’t have been happier. “We have been working with Austin for the past year and it’s been great to see him develop as a race car driver! Austin is very focused, just like his Dad Jimmy, and we look forward to seeing him in a John Force Racing Fuel Funny Car down the road.” said Frank Hawley

“We at John Force Racing have always relied on Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School to get our drivers started off with the proper training. The knowledge that can be gained from the school is priceless and definitely gives our current and future drivers a leg up on the competition.” said Robert Hight, GM at John Force Racing. Robert added, “Even though I have won 2 Championships, Frank Hawley is still the first person I call for advice when I need some, and he is always there to help me out.”

“I had a blast working with Frank, like I always do. In my mind if you want to become a better racecar driver, there is no better school to go to. Frank’s constructive criticism is what makes the difference, if you listen to him. So, if you just want to go somewhere, make laps and not learn, this isn’t the place to go!” said Austin Prock

“I’m honored that John Force Racing has trusted us to work with all of their drivers over the years, it’s truly been a privilege,” said Hawley.  “As Austin moves forward in his career he will get excellent guidance and advice from Robert and all of the JFR team drivers.”

“When we came up with this program, the idea was to make the transition to a Nostalgia Funny Car or NHRA Nitro Funny Car as easy as possible.  The procedures for driving this car are almost identical to those type of cars and we feel that there is no better way to get prepared for that next step in your career. For those of you that like the dragsters better, we also have a Top Dragster set up the same way, so we have you covered.” added Frank Hawley.

Contact the school at 866-480-7223.  And visit our website at www.frankhawley.com for information on all the programs we offer, class dates & locations!  Pre-registration required in all classes and seats are limited.  The Alcohol Funny Car and Dragster class dates are on-demand and most are not listed on our calendar.

Justin Ashley’s incredible rookie season just keeps getting better and better.  At last weekend’s Lucas Oil Nationals in Brainerd Minnesota, Justin defeated number 1 qualifier Gord Gringles in the final round with a low ET of the event 5.237. For those keeping score, Justin has won 2 of the 3 finals that he has been in this year. “It’s been a dream season so far and I know that I am very blessed. Even though I had gotten licensed last year, I went back to Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School for some more instruction earlier this year. I spent 2 days driving Frank’s Top Dragster and I can’t tell you how much it helped me. I actually ended up winning my first National Event at the Gatornationals a couple of weeks later! There are a lot of distractions at the races but Frank has taught me how to block them out and be better focused and mentally prepared, and that’s a big part of our success.” said Justin Ashley.

Justin’s father Mike Ashley had this to say. “I was a very successful driver for many years and I didn’t even trust myself to teach Justin. I am a father and love my son and only wanted what was best for him. Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School was the only choice in my opinion. Some people may not know this but Justin had never driven a race car before he went to Frank’s school. I have always said that success comes when preparation meets opportunity. We have a great team with Randy Meyer but I am 100% sure that without Frank’s impact on Justin’s mental and physical state, these victories wouldn’t have been possible!

“Having worked with Justin’s dad Mike for several years, I was very happy to work with Justin when Mike called.  In fact Mike was responsible for my opportunity to get back in the seat of a Nitro Funny Car a few years ago.  Justin’s a very bright and highly motivated person, a lot like his dad.  I think we’ll be hearing more from the Ashley family in the future.” said Frank Hawley.

Justin Ashley’s next race will be at the famed US Nationals Aug 30-September 4th.

Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School and Mickey Thompson Tires have been creating memories together for many years and their event on July 19th at the famed Summit Motorsports Park was no different.

Under beautiful skies, Mickey Thompson pitted some of their best employees and customers against each other in a 10 second, 130 mph battle to the finish line.

Kirk Fenn, MT National Accounts and Business Development, had this to say about the event, “Our employees and customers were jumping out of the cars with grins of excitement, especially our VP of Sales, Perry Lease”.

At the end of the day there was only one person left standing and that was Mark Klacik from Cyclone Auto.  “Participating in the Dragster Challenge is as exhilarating as when I scuba dive with sharks!”  “If you listen to Frank closely and follow what he says, you too could win.”

“We have been relying on the high quality and consistent performance of Mickey Thompson Drag slicks for all our race cars for many years now”.  “As the biggest drag racing school in the country we travel to a lot of different locations and we see all types of track surfaces and temperatures.” “We know we can rely on Mickey Thompson slicks to give us the traction, durability and safety for all our students”, says Frank Hawley.

World famous financial magazine Forbes, recently sent writer Jim Clash to Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School.  Jim attended the competition license class at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. “It’s always a fabulous opportunity when our sport gets featured in the general media.  And to have drag racing featured in a world class publication such as Forbes Magazine, was quite an honor,” Frank Hawley.

By Abby Werner:  Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School continues to be the best as they train two future NHRA competitors. Austin Prock and Jordan Vandergriff are currently going through a multi-year program with Frank Hawley’s and are excited about what their future in drag racing will bring.

Austin Prock is the 21 year old grandson of Tom Prock, a former NHRA Funny Car driver, and the son of Jimmy Prock, a crew chief for John Force Racing. Jimmy Prock led John Force to his 16th championship in 2013 and is currently the crew chief for Robert Hight’s Auto Club of California Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car. Austin has experience racing Sprint Cars and Midgets, and works on the JFR cars as well. He is part of John Force Racing’s driver development program.

“I’ve already been through Frank’s S/C program. Up next I’m gonna test in the School’s Alcohol Funny Car.  We’re hoping to make some runs soon. We’re going to do several laps in that. And then once I get my license, I hope to start testing in a Nitro Funny Car,” explained Prock.

Jordan Vandergriff is the 22 year old grandson of Bob Vandergriff, the owner of Hedman Hedders, and the nephew of Bob Vandergriff Jr., a Top Fuel driver who has raced in the NHRA for over 20 years.

“It’s pretty exciting knowing guys like me and Austin Prock are the future of the NHRA. It’s amazing- I grew up going to the races, watching my uncle. I never thought that I would be the guy to be up next, and now that it’s happening, it’s surreal. Next up is the alcohol program. I am very excited. Hopefully I can win and carry on the family name,” said Vandergriff.

Both Prock and Vandergriff have already attended Hawley’s S/C and S/G program and agree that Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School is the best, and what they have already learned from Frank Hawley will be invaluable in their racing careers. Since Frank Hawley has trained many of the top competitors in the NHRA, they are each optimistic that the racing education they receive at Hawley’s will propel them to the top of the NHRA leaderboard.

“What I liked best about Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School was how Frank was one-on-one with each driver and after you made a lap he would take you back into the classroom and break down the run for you. Frank knew what mistakes you were gonna make before you even made them. It was cool how knowledgeable he was about the human body and your reaction times and your composure as a driver,” said Prock.

Prock and Vandergriff came to Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School to train from the best of the best. But the individual faith and support they have each received from Frank Hawley himself is another huge aspect of why they both loved the experience so much.

“Both of these young men come from strong racing families and are excellent examples of the future champions we train here at Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School. I’m excited to see what they will accomplish in their racing careers, and I look forward to working with them on their journey,” expressed Frank Hawley.
